Paris 2024, Day 6 - Disney (Part 4)

Dusk was descending reasonably fast by the time I made it back into Disneyland and up Main St USA. Such a pretty castle lit up.

There was one last ride I wanted to get to prior to the two day's-end displays at the hub.

Very similar to PotC at WDW, though fewer appearances of Jack Sparrow in the displays. The biggest difference, which would certainly have had one of my friends flipping out the entire time, is that there is a VERY long incline at the beginning of the ride (at lest in the context of this ride). The longest of the few "drops" in the ride is only a little bit longer than at WDW. (Fair warning for when you finally go!)

Towards the end, *I* was mildly flipping out, because of the 2 or 3 times that we had a somewhat sizable delay/stoppage in forward movement. Why flip out? Because I was looking at my watch, doing the math of how long it would take to get back to the hub and be able to watch the Electrical Sky Parade and Illuminations.

Well, I managed it. For those who have been to Walt Disney World or Disneyland at the end of the day for their respective displays, you know the chaos that it is. But you also know that the park marks off an area where people can walk to and fro -- they are not allowed to stop and position themselves in that walkway for a viewing angle. Not so in Disneyland Paris -- they had no delineated area. So EVERYTHING was fully packed, and those people who did want to flow to/fro were pushing their way. Ugh!

And it was close enough in time that the best I could manage was a 1/3-obstructed view.

Well, certainly no photos or video going to be taken from that position. And, boy howdy, was the Electrical Sky Parade absolutely BRILLIANT to watch. What they managed to do was just astounding. Go look for some videos posted online - you'll be thankful you did.

Illuminations is also a great display, though that one is largely the same as what I've seen before, aside from part of it being done in French.

Finally, both shows ended about 10:45pm, and it was a huge crush to leave the park. Thankfully with my positioning, I was able to go through one of the galleries (that I was hoping to get to during the day itself) rather than go with the majority of the crowd down Main St USA. It was *much* faster going my way, even with the additional photos I was taking.

Bon soir, Disney!

Thankfully, I was near the leading edge of the crowd walking out to get to the RER train to get back to Paris. For some reason, there were lots of people that didn't already have a ticket, so they were at the machines buying their return fares. Finally, about 15 minutes later, the train to Paris finally arrived.

Back in the room by about 12:30, and my roommate arriving a bit later, by the time I got to sleep, I had less than 3 hours of sleep before I had to wake up to get ready to catch my G7 car (think Uber) to Orly for the first leg of my flight back home. Au revoir, Paris! Until next time.
