Recently, Abbott World Marathon Majors announced a contest where the grand prize would have the winner get a World Tour to all of the Marathon Majors races -- one each -- during the next two years (winner's choice as to which to run in 2026 and which in 2027). Plus accommodations and $10k cash. Not too shabby.
To enter, though, one must make a video that answers one basic question: "Why should I be the one to go on the World Tour?" And two social media influencers will be the judges (or, at least, the initial judges who whittle down the initial entries).
So, what to say? And, possibly more importantly, how long to make the video? My initial "script" is over 7 minutes long. WAY too long, I know. I have only a short amount of time (< 2 weeks left) to chop it down to something manageable that still gets across my points, then be able to put together the photos/videos into one piece to do a voice-over over.
Fingers crossed! While I do have a couple of outstanding charity bib applications for Boston 2026, this is one of the only other last-resort options I have to getting in.
