Some people have been trying their hardest to get tickets to different events during the upcoming 2028 Summer Olympics to be held mostly in the Greater Los Angeles area (but several other venues across the country, too).
Me? I just submitted my application to be a volunteer. I'm hoping that if I manage to get through the full process that at least part of the ten shifts will comprise volunteering on the course for the Olympic marathons -- naturally. Being at a couple of different spots on the men's Olympic Marathon course in Paris in 2024, and managing to be at one spot on the women's Olympic Marathon course the following day was very exciting. To be an active part of helping out in some way would be an even bigger thrill, I think.
Now to just wait until I hear if I move on to the interview portion of the process - likely sometime next year, I suspect.
